Magnet Programs

Advanced Academic Focus

PURPOSE
The Bartow County School District recognizes that students who demonstrate exceptional potential in a specific area may benefit from a specialized program. Bartow's magnet programs allow students to pursue their interests, develop their talents, and extend their competencies beyond the usual scope of high school.

OPPORTUNITIES
These additional academic opportunities include an accelerated curriculum in a specialized area of study, additional Advanced Placement offerings, connections to businesses and community partnerships across our county in a specialized way and the building of a strengthened college and career pathway with a focus on learning, collaboration and results.

  • Program focused individualized research

  • Filed work & internships with experts through community partners

  • Study abroad programs connected to their specified area of study

  • Distinct facilities that boost academic exposure and experiences

APPLICATIONS
During fall semester, eighth grade students at each district middle school are provided information about all magnet programs. Due to limited space at each program, students are selected through a highly competitive, rigorous application process that includes; middle school grades, student prompt responses, teacher recommendations, and PSAT test results. Applications to academic magnets are due in early December.

TRANSPORTATION
The district provides arterial transportation for students attending magnet programs. Interested students and parents should go online or contact program coordinators for more information.
